About DVAR() Function

The DVAR() function is a database function that estimates the variance (based on a sample of a population) of values in a field of a list or database, that satisfy specified conditions.

Where to apply :

The DVAR() function is applied to know the variance in values. This helps to control the variance in numeric values.

Syntax :

=DVAR(range, field, criteria)

Parameters :

range - It indicates a range, table or a database.

field - It is a column of database that keeps numeric values.

criteria - This argument keeps a condition or group of conditions.

Example :

Let's take a table that shows billing on daily basis.

To know the variance in the amounts of Monday, you can use below function.

=DVAR(Table8[#All],"Billing",C19:C20)   // Returns (76.33333)

It returns 76.333.
